The Royals took three of four games against the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend. They have not lost a series this season. Today they start a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are 8-8 on the season and just swept the Yankees in New York.

Super League Threatens The Soccer World
Today we could hear an official announcement of a new Super League involving the top clubs in European soccer.
Teams from England include Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
Teams from Spain include Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid.
Teams from Italy include AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus.
Three other founding members would join these 12 teams. Five non-founding members would participate each year. The non-founding clubs would be subject to relegation. Founding clubs could not be relegated.
This isn’t a done deal. The teams’ current leagues oppose the new Super League. FIFA is against it and has said that players in this league could be banned from international FIFA events such as the World Cup. However, each club would receive $4.2 billion to help with infrastructure and offset losses from the covid.
I expect the Super League to happen. There is too much money for it not to happen. The question is if the English Premier League and the other affected leagues would let these clubs continue to participate in their leagues. These leagues and FIFA need these clubs more than the clubs need their leagues and FIFA. I expect everything will stay the same except that these clubs will add the Super League to their schedules.
