Kansas State saved its best game of the season for what could have been its last game of the season.
Kansas State was the more aggressive team from the beginning and remained that way the entire game. This was unlike any Kansas State game we have seen all season. Do you remember the loss at home to Fort Hays State? How far the Wildcats have come since then.
We have talked about how the team has played hard even when it was in the middle of a horrendous stretch of losses in conference. The hard work finally paid off on February 20, when they finally got a win. It was an eight-point win over… TCU.
And so we thought there was a chance Kansas State could win against TCU. The Horned Frogs did have just one more win in conference than the Wildcats. And now Kansas State has two wins over TCU on the season.
Although Selton Miguel was the most aggressive Wildcat early on, Nijel Pack and Mike McGuirl carried Kansas State on offense. Pack scored 23 points on 6-for-8 shooting (5-for-6 behind the arc). McGuirl added 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting.
Kansa State had a 27 point lead at one point on their way to a blowout win to open the Big 12 Conference tournament.
Now Kansas State gets to play Baylor on Thursday. The two games they have already played were both blowouts in favor of the Bears. Kansas State is better now, but that likely won’t matter.
