Just like Kansas needed a win on Saturday, Missouri needed one as well, but maybe even more. Missouri came into the game on a three game losing streak. The good news was that Jeremiah Tilmon was back.
Missouri got exactly what they need to start the game. The Tigers had a six point lead at the first television timeout, and it just increased after that. Missouri couldn’t have asked for a better response to their three-game losing streak.
Tilmon couldn’t have had a better return to the team. He was perfect on the offensive end, going 5-for-5 from the field and 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. He finished with 17 points.
With Tilmon out for two games, the Tigers found more depth on the offensive end than they thought they had. Torrance Watson and Parker Braun have allowed Cuonzo Martin to rest some of the starters.
Now, this was all great. Missouri won rather easily. They ended a losing streak. They got Tilmon back, and he had a great game as well. But all of this was against a 5-10 South Carolina team. Let’s see how they play against Mississippi and Florida in this last week and a half. They will have a game against Texas A&M between those two as well.
Missouri won this one. Who knows what it means for the rest of the season? Will they get back to being the team that was highly ranked not long ago, or will they go back into a spiral?
