The NCAA basketball selection committee released the first look at seedlings prior to games on Saturday.
Major League Soccer announced that players will report for preseason training on March 1. The regular season start date was pushed back two weeks to April 17 recently. Upon reporting for training, players will be quarantined for seven days and will go through testing. Players can report voluntarily prior to March 1.
The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed with 3B Justin Turner on a two-year, $34 million contract with a club option for a third year and an $8 million signing bonus.
St. Louis Cardinals RHP Jack Flaherty won his arbitration hearing with the club.
The Tampa Bay Rays agreed on a contract with LHP Rich Hill.
The New York Yankees agreed with OF Jay Bruce on a minor-league contract. Bruce might be a nice left-handed bat in Yankees Stadium. Bruce will make $1.35 million if he makes the major league roster with up to $150,000 in incentives.
The Baltimore Orioles agreed with RHP Matt Harvey on a minor-league contract.
The New York Mets invited Tim Tebow to Spring Training for the fourth consecutive season.
Former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence will have labrum surgery on his left shoulder on Tuesday. Recovery is expected to take 5-6 months. He could be ready by training camp.
