Well that was not a fun Sunday for Chiefs fans. Losing a game isn’t the end of the world but losing at home stinks. And losing at home to the Raiders really stinks. And next week they go to Buffalo so it’s not going to get any easier. But for now, let’s enjoy Monday.
Raiders 40, Chiefs 32

RAIDERS (40) AT CHIEFS (32)
You aren’t going to win every game. You just wish the losses didn’t include the Raiders game at Arrowhead.
The Chiefs scored 32 points and allowed 40. So don’t even start to blame the offense for this loss.
Patrick Mahomes had a rough game. That’s true. He threw for 340 yards but was just 22-for-43 passing. And yes, he did under throw Tyreek Hill on a play that could have been a touchdown if it was on target.
The Raiders slowed down Mahomes, at times, by getting pressure up the middle without having to blitz. When the Raiders did blitz on a fourth down late in the game, Mahomes easily beat it. You need to get pressure without blitzing to slow down the Chiefs and they still put up 32 points.
The problem in this game was the defense. Period.
The Raiders were able to have success both passing and rushing against the Chiefs’ defense. Derek Carr completed 22 of 31 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns. The Raiders rushed for 144 yards. The bottom line is that the balanced attack made it tough for the Chiefs.
The Raiders are a good team. The battle for the division will still probably go to the Chiefs by more than a couple of games, but this loss keeps things interesting.
- Kelechi Osemele tore tendons in both knees Sunday.
- Sammy Watkins left the game Sunday with a hamstring injury.
NASHVILLE (1) AT SPORTING (2)
Sporting fell behind early 1-0 on a Nashville header off of a corner kick. That would be the score at halftime.
In the second half, sporting scored on an easy goal from Gerso Fernandes on an assist from Johnny Russell who nutmegged the defender on him. That goal came in the 53rd minute.
In the 79th minute Erik Hurtado knocked in a beautiful volley that you just need to see. It’s probably the goal of the year for Sporting.
The win keeps Sporting within one point of conference leading Seattle.
