KANSAS CITY ROYALS (2) AT CHICAGO WHITE SOX (5)
The Royals dropped two out of three games in Chicago but fought hard and had a chance to win the series. While the loss Sunday hurt, it continues to help the Royals’ draft position for next year. The Royals currently have the fifth pick on the 2021 draft.
Player of the Game
Whit Merrifield is the best player on the Royals’ team and he was the best in this game. Merrifield went 2-for-4 with an eighth inning home run to tie the game at 2-2.
The ultimate turning point in the game came in the tenth when Luis Robert hit a three-run home run off of Tyler Zuber. That won the game for the White Sox.
Kris Bubic allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings and had six strikeouts. Bubic walked two and allowed six hits. He continues to improve and learn how to be successful at the major league level.
Kyle Zimmer pitches another scoreless inning and lowered his ERA to 1.38.
Josh Staumont has been terrific all season. His ERA is an incredible 0.61!
Room for Improvement
Adalberto Mondesi. I need to leave it there.
