Here is your daily Dr. Feelgood…
MLB AGREEMENT WITH MLBPA
MLB and the MLBPA reached an agreement on how they will proceed in a shortened or eliminated 2020 season. The owners will advance the players $170 million to cover April and May salaries. If the season is canceled the players will get to keep the money. MLB can shorten the 2020 draft to as few as five rounds. They can also shorten the 2021 draft to as few as 20 rounds. Service time will be prorated based on the percentage of the season players are on the major league roster regardless of the length of the 2020 season. If the season is not played at all, players will get service time equal to what they earned in 2019.
