The Royals played the Milwaukee Brewers and got some more quality pitching. The Chiefs are reportedly going to put the franchise tag on Chris Jones. We heard an update on Tony Brady and got some bad news from YouTube TV.
Here is your daily Dr. Feelgood…
The Royals played the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. There were several more quality pitching performances. Jakob Junis pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts. Kris Bubic allowed a hit and a walk to go with two strikeouts in two innings. Josh Staumont threw another scoreless inning with a walk and a strikeout.
The Chiefs are expected to franchise tag Chris Jones. The big question then is if they trade him or keep him. Jones said there were no hard feelings about the tag and that it’s just business. He said that he will either get paid by the Chiefs with a new contract or will be traded to another team and receive a nice contract. He’s absolutely right. There is no problem with the franchise tag. It gives both sides a longer opportunity to try to work out a contract or trade.
IN THE NEWS
– Tom Brady is expected by many to sign with a team other than the New England Patriots. The Patriots haven’t negotiated with Brady yet. They are reportedly waiting until the CBA is settled.
– New York Yankees pitcher Luis Severino had Tommy John surgery on Thursday.
– YouTube TV will be losing the Fox Sports Regional networks which includes Fox Sports Kansas City. YouTube TV was not able to reach an agreement with Sinclair Broadcasting, the owner of the Fox Sports Regional channels. The Royals and Sporting Kansas City play most of their games on Fox Sports Kansas City.
TODAY: Washington State plays at Washington at 8:00 pm on FS1.
