Thursday’s news was limited but very interesting. The injury report stayed the same for the Chiefs on Thursday. It looks like Chris Jones is headed for being a game-time decision again this week. Major League Baseball continues to deal with the damage from the cheating scandal of the Houston Astros. Three managers have now lost their jobs and players from other teams are wanting Astros players to be punished harshly.
Here is your daily Dr. Feelgood…
Chris Jones did not practice again Thursday. Travis Kelce was limited again because of his knee. Kelce should be fine for the game on Sunday. I would expect Jones to be a game-time decision against this week.
There was a tweet on Thursday that said that Jose Alive wrote a device under his shirt that would be buzzed by someone in the video replay room to tell him what pitch was about to be thrown. Trevor Bauer retweeted the tweet and said that he has heard this from multiple sources. Altuve denied ever wearing an electronic device as a major league player through his agent Scott Boras. Major League Baseball’s investigation did not find any evidence of players wearing electronic devices.
Mets manager Carlos Beltran was let go because of his involvement in the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Beltran is the third manager to lose his job because of the scandal.
The Houston Astros started interviewing candidates for their open manager position. Buck Showalter interviewed on Wednesday. John Gibbons interviewed on Thursday.
Bruce Bochy does not intend to pursue any of the current managerial openings.
