Royals take series with 6-4 win over Baltimore
Adalberto Mondesi made a grand return to the club Sunday going 4-for5 and leading the Royals to a 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles to give the Royals a 2-1 series win. Hunter Dozier and Meibrys Viloria also had two hits in the game. Whit Merrifield hit his 16th home run on the season.
Danny Duffy was also returning from the injured list and allowed four runs in 6 1/3 innings on seven hits and a walks. Duffy used 90 pitches yo get through his 6 1/3 innings. Kevin McCarthy and Ian Kennedy combined for 2 2/3 scoreless innings.
The Royals are off on Monday. They will resume on Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals activated Adalberto Mondesi, Day Duffy and Cam Gallagher on Sunday. Adalberto Mondesi has supposedly been told not to dive in the field or on the bases.
Justin Verlander threw a no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays. Verlander allowed just one walk and struck out 14.
