I started the Kansas City Sports Monitor in February, 2019 with the idea of providing information for Kansas City sports fans in a way that is easy to consume in a limited amount of time.
This website was the first step of the journey. The content on the website has changed a lot in the six months I have been doing this. I have learned a lot. I am currently focusing on providing a single post every day that contains all of the news of interest to the Kansas City sports fan from the previous day. I call it the daily rewind. I will write about other specific topics down the road when the written word works best for the content.
One of my goals from the beginning was to have a podcast as the primary outlet for news and analysis but I knew I had a lot to learn to get to that point. I’m taking a large step in that direction today by announcing the availability of the Kansas City Sports Monitor Podcast on Apple Podcasts and TuneIn. I will add other podcast providers as soon as possible but with Apple Podcasts alone we are available to over half of the people who currently listen to podcasts.
There is just one trailer episode available right now but that will soon change. The podcast will start in full force in the next few weeks. I’m still working out the details of publishing days and exact formats. I’m sure some of this will change over time as I receive your feedback.
There will be multiple episodes each week. The Chiefs, Royals, Sporting Kansas City as well as Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri will be the topics. I’ll also include some national news.
Go ahead and subscribe to the podcast today so you don’t miss an episode. If you provide your email address on the right side of the page you will stay informed about everything going on here including when the first full episode is released.
