Royals give up 11 runs again in loss to Twins
Saturday it was Danny Duffy who was terrible on the mound to start the game for the Royals. The Royals trailed 7-2 after just two innings and went on to lose to the Minnesota Twins 11-3.
This game belonged to Nelson Cruz of the Twins. Cruz hit three home runs, two of them landed in the upper deck of Target field. Cruz finished with a line of 3-for-4 with three runs and five runs batted in.
While Nelson Cruz hit three home runs, the Royals combined for one extra base hit, a home run by Jorge Soler. The Royals offense is seemingly getting worse which was thought by some to not be possible,
Danny Duffy allowed nine runs, eight earned, on eight hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. Jorge Lopez finished the last 3.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits.
There isn’t much else to say. The Royals are getting pounded in Minnesota. No player should be untouchable on this team. The lack of trades by Dayton Moore at the trade deadline is inexcusable.
