Kansas guard Marcus Garrett resumed practicing on Monday for the first time since experiencing a high ankle sprain in practice on February 1. Bill Self said that Garrett was very limited during Monday’s practice going about half-speed. Garrett was better at practice on Tuesday.
Garrett is not expected to play a lot on Saturday when the Jayhawks travel to Lubbock, Texas to play Texas Tech in what is a huge game for the team. The winner of that game remains within one game of, and could possibly be tied with, Kansas State for the top spot in the Big 12.
Kansas follows Saturday’s game at Texas Tech with their biggest remaining conference game on Monday at home against Kansas State. Winning both games will guarantee the Jayhawks at least a tie at the top of the conference at the end of Monday. The Jayhawks and Wildcats both control their destiny in the conference.
